Across all phases of construction we at Roman Plumbing institute universal design principles that help tailor your vision in ways that maximize the services provided by the project. Recognizing the diversity of our population we incorporate the state and federal regulations with the dynamic needs of our customers. As such, we work to ensure that our installations are equitable in use so that people with diverse abilities are able to maximize the use of the plumbing system, in a way that reduces physical effort, and is simple and intuitive in use regardless of the customer's level experience or knowledge.
As we commitment to meeting the needs of our customers and their environment, we actively incorporate cost-effective green building approaches that exceed the expectations of our customers while often saving them money in the process. The SoCal Water $mart program launched by the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California and its member agencies provides rebate incentives for single and multi-family residents, builders and businesses.

Green builders design and construct projects that enhance the well-being of their occupants while at the same time minimize the negative impacts on their community and natural environment.
These green elements promote a healthier and more comfortable environment, provide water efficient and cost effective technologies, reduce construction and demolition waste, improve occupant satisfaction and generate higher resale values. Although many envision the idea of incorporating "green" technologies into their structures as costly, these technologies typically pay for themselves at least ten times over the life of the building.
We actively work with related green builders to provide holistic solutions to our customers need. These networks also ensure that our professionals stay current with the latest in green building practices and can provide you with suggestions about how to better protect your family and environment while saving you money at the same time.
As quality is first at Roman Plumbing we have formed partnerships with leading conservation experts including: FALCON Waterfree Technologies who produce a range of high quality waterless urinals that save an average of 40,000 gallons of water per year, per urinal.

Since the drought in the late 1980s and early 1990s, Californians have worked to develop innovative conservations techniques to help reduce the impact on increasingly low water reserves and better prepare for future dry years. Due to the record dry spring that dramatically reduced snow runoff from the Sierra Nevada Mountains, Governor Schwarzenegger declared an official statewide drought in 2008. Currently California is in a "Condition 2 Water Supply Alert" asking all cities, counties, member agencies, and retail water agencies to implement "extraordinary conservation".
Water conservation reduces water demand, which allows rivers and streams to maintain adequate water levels and flow. This helps to sustain healthy aquatic ecosystems. Conservation also reduces the need to develop new water treatment facilities and new water storage - a process that often causes unfavorable environmental repercussions. Additionally, conservation reduces the need to overdraw from groundwater resources, which can be vulnerable to depletion and contamination. Indirectly, saving water also helps to reduce energy consumption for water and wastewater development, treatment, and distribution.
Here at Roman Plumbing we believe that Californian's continue to make extraordinary efforts to ensure the health and welfare of their families, their neighbors and their communities. Acting on this water conservation effort we actively work in coordination with the California Department of Conservation and the California Department of Water Resources to ensure that Roman Plumbing meets and exceeds state guidlines, strengthening our committment as contractors to provide cost-effective designs that also help to ensure the health and welfare of our customers and the communities we serve.

As conservation extends beyond reducing usage, we at Roman Plumbing also actively practice various recycling techniques allowing us to more fully reach our goal of becoming a Zero % Landfill Company. In California, construction and demolition (C&D) material account for almost 22 percent of the waste stream. Many of these materials can be reused or recycled, thus prolonging our supply of natural resources and potentially saving money in the process. Here at Roman Plumbing we join the "Zero Waste" effort of the California Integrated Waste Management Board and the California Department of Recycling who promote the reduction of waste whenever possible and advocate for the best use and reuse of all materials in an effort to protecting public health and safety and the environment.

At every job site, from demolition to cleanup, Roman Plumbing practices on-demand recycling where our plumbing professionals actively sort all recyclable materials which reduce labor time and cost to the customer while also ensuring that we reduce the amount of waste that would otherwise pollute our communities. Most of the commonly used and removed materials including copper, ABS, plastic, iron, steel, and drywall are recycled after each and every Roman Plumbing job. Additionally, low-efficiency toilets made before 1993 (which use anywhere from 3.5 gallons per flush (gpf) up to 8 gpf can account for as much as 30 percent of the water usage within a typical single family dwelling) are either donated to gardeners, artists or picked-up by local cement companies via the California Materials Exchange network (CALMAX) where they are crushed and reused to make concrete for roads or sidewalks.
